Weekly Rides
Explore Our Routes
We post and email the weekly route sometime between Monday and Wednesday during the season. All rides begin on Thursdays at 6:00pm from behind the Millheim Fire Station unless otherwise noted (please arrive early to sign in). Below, you’ll find several of our past rides and the upcoming ride (if we have one!). We’ll also post relevant events and riders with great cycling stories going forward. We hope to see you at a Thursday evening Penns Valley Pedals and Pints ride!
Miles for Mark
Miles for Mark
We'll celebrate Pedals and Pints co-founder Mark Rupert with this very special ride, named Miles for Mark.
Past Routes
This does not include rides from end of year 2022.
8/4/22 – Bower Hollow to Paradise
UPDATE TO ROUTE!
Before I show you the route this week I want to take a minute to share something with the club. I get scared at the start of every weekly PV Pedals + Pints club ride. Yes, scared because I fear someone is going to get hurt…or worse.
7/28/22 – Dan Stearns Tribute Ride
This week we are riding one of our favorite routes, but for a different reason. Thursday we are “Pedaling for a Purpose” – with the purpose being the Dan Stearns Foundation. Please read the article to learn about how much more there was to Dan than just one of our weekly riders.
7/21/22 – Brush Valley Backwards
We’re riding to Madisonburg this week in Brush Valley. The route is rightfully named, the Brush Valley Reverse. This route takes us through the Millheim Narrows. I’ll once again try and arrange with Ed from the Millheim Fire Company to follow us through the Narrows for a enjoyable start to the ride. We are on our own for the return ride. Feel free to alter the route if riding in the Narrows makes you uncomfortable.
7/7/22 – Middle Road Ride
We’re riding towards Woodward this week. This route has several very winding rural roads, please stay in your lane on the blind turns. Middle Road is kind of rough with potholes, if you let yourself go on the long downhill, be careful at the bottom!! This 20 mile ride takes us on RT 45 for about a quarter mile and then crosses RT 45 twice in Woodward, be careful!
6/30/22 – Orndorf, Green Grove, Allison, Paradise
This week we are riding towards Spring Mills via Green Grove Road. This route will take us along Rt 45 for just a few hundred yards, please be careful and communicate with each other. Creekside will once again have beer for purchase after the ride.
6/23/22 – Pick Your Flavor Riddle’s Ride
This week we are riding to Riddle’s Ice Cream Shop in Spring Mills. A little hilly on the way over to make you earn your cone! DON’T FORGET money for Ice Cream if you plan on stopping.
6/9/22 – Brush Valley
*FIRST – A SPECIAL THANKS! to Brush Mountain Lodge Vacation Rentals.* This week we are riding to Brush Valley through the Millheim Narrows. We will have the Millheim Fire Company follow us to avoid any vehicles passing us. Still remember to stay in your lane! We will be on our own on the return trip.
6/2/22 – Old Gregg and Back
Image of first Pedals & Pints Club…just kidding! Though tonight’s ride will be easy cruising (Millheim to Spring Mills and back), don’t ride in uncomfortable attire. Get a NEW Elk Creek / PVPP Jersey and help us raise money for charity.
5/26/22 – Close to Home
With possible rain in the forecast, Thursday’s route will keep us close to home. There are several options to cut it short and head back to the Elk Creek Café. This route does put us on Route 45 for a few miles. If this makes you uncomfortable feel free to ride a alternate route.
5/19/22 – Apple Butter Loop
That’s right, we ride this week! It’s time to head to Millheim every Thursday night. Penns Valley Pedals and Pints Season 6 starts this Thursday. Pedals up at 6:00.
There will be a few changes this season…
9/19/21 – Crickfest Ride
This Sunday, September 19,2021 PVCA will hold their 18th Crickfest Celebration. If you would like one more group ride, meet at the pavilion at Coburn Park, Coburn, PA. The ride will leave at 11:00. Afterwards, you can enjoy the music and food at Crickfest 2021.
9/11/21 – Picnic Ride (Final Ride of the Season)
I’ve attached the 2021 Picnic Route. This route will be slightly longer than our weekly rides. As always feel free to change it to however suits you. The ride will leave at 10:30. We will require you to sign in. You will get a beer token for your $3.00 donation, which will go towards picnic costs.
9/10/21 – Last Thursday Ride of the Season!
This is the last weekday evening ride of the season. We’ll be riding the Apple Butter Loop (because it’s our favorite!). Don’t forget to RSVP for the end of Season party this Saturday.
9/2/21 – Brush Valley 22
Yes, it’s raining, but it’s not going to rain tomorrow! So, as long as the Millheim Narrows aren’t flooded, we’ll be headed to Brush Valley.
8/26/21 – No Riddle’s Ride – We Tried!
Looks like another hot one Thursday night. I thought we’d take it nice and slow and ride to Riddle’s Ice Cream shop, but they are closed, due to mechanical issues. The best we can offer is that Mark will be at Riddle’s parking lot with cold water to refill your bottles.
8/19/21 – Apple Butter Backwards
This week’s ride is the Apple Butter Loop backwards. It’s slightly longer than the last several rides, at just over 20 miles. There are a few shortcuts on this route once you cross over Rt 45.
8/12/21 – Two Valley Loops
This week’s ride is going to be a hot one, so I made it easy. There is a good chance of rain showers, so I also made it a short one, 16.6 miles. This route will take a little willpower, with us passing Creekside around the halfway point.
8/5/21 – Local Ride
RESCHEDULED! The Local Ride has been moved to August 5th following last week’s cancellation. We’ll venture no more than a few miles from Millheim throughout the ride.
7/22/21 – Allison Road Ride
It looks like we have a good weather forecast for this Thursday’s ride through Spring Mills. This route is dangerously close to Riddle’s Ice Cream Shop, your call!
