6/1/23 – Aaronsburg Quarry Ride
Hi Everyone,
I hope you enjoyed the cool weather last week. Thank you all for using the RSVP button, it really makes things easier for the Elk Creek to prepare for our club.
It’s going to be a hot one this Thursday! We’re taking a shorter 16 mile ride through the Aaronsburg Quarry this week to take advantage of the new paving. This is a winding route, please stay in your lane.
We’ll be passing through bridge construction in Coburn twice, please stop if the light is red – be patient, take a breather and swig of water – it should turn within 60 seconds. And follow the construction guidelines getting through the traffic signal. Let’s not be THOSE riders drivers often complain about.

We’ll ring the bell 🔔 when it’s time to roll!
I will be at the bottom of Paradise Road in the support truck with water if needed.
See you Thursday!

So, we think Nittany Mountain Biking Association (NMBA) is a pretty amazing group to have around in Central PA! Have you heard about Harvest Fields Community Trails? Yep, that’s them! Have you seen the repairs to the actual 3 Bridges, the new switch back route on Kettle Trail or repairs to Lonberger Trail in Rothrock? That’s them, too!
Check out their amazing projects: https://nittanymba.org/nmba-trail-work/
They never really stop working and could always use a helping hand or monetary donation to help them do their work. So, whether you are an occasional vacation rider, a mountain bike racer, or trail enthusiast – hiker, birder, gravel grinder…they are always looking for great people to help in the planning process and actual maintenance of trails.
Dan Sterns and Harvest Fields
Do you remember the Dan Sterns Memorial Ride we hosted last summer? Well, in addition to everything else amazing about him, Dan was a really big advocate for the Harvest Fields trail system. And now his son, Evan (and his company LandServ, Inc.), is carrying on the tradition by volunteering money and time to make the new bike park an outstanding resource. There’s one more trail to build and Evan wants to raise $25,000 needed and honor his dad, Dan, in naming it. Use this link to help Evan reach his goal!
