5/11/23 – First Ride of the Year!
First Ride of the Year!
Hi Everyone!
We’re taking a ride and you’re all invited! Come join us Thursday, May 11th @ 6pm and help kick off the first weekly ride of the Penns Valley Pedals and Pints 2023 Season.
Each week you can check the “Weekly Rides” page for the latest posting and any special events we have planned. We’ll also be including announcements from our sponsors and the charitable organizations that we contribute to at the end of the year. If a ride is cancelled due to inclemate weather, we’ll “Cancel” the event on the Weekly Rides page, send an email and make a Facebook announcement. Join our mailing list if you’d like to be notified of weekly rides and other information, and follow us on Facebook.
A donation of $3 per rider is requested at registration.
The Route
We’ll be riding the Apple Butter Backwards Loop (click to view and download the ride via CentreBike’s Ride w/ GPS), featuring 21 miles of Penns Valley beauty! The route will be marked in BLUE arrows.
The ride begins/ends in the Millheim Fire Company parking lot (from State College, turn left at the light in Millheim and turn right just past the Millheim Fire Company; from Mifflinburg, turn right at the light). Please arrive early to register and sign the waiver (download a copy to sign and bring with you).
Head Inside Elk Creek Cafe + Aleworks Afterwards
We’re doing our best to keep things the same as always, but the first week unfortunately will be different. Elk Creekside will not be open. We will still start and finish our ride from the Millheim Fire Company parking lot. Everything else (food, beer and restrooms) will be inside at the Elk Creek Cafe. We’ll reconvene inside Elk Creek after the ride to cheers to a new Pedals and Pints year! Elk Creek is ready to accommodate and has set up additional tables in the backroom.
PLEASE NOTE: If you’re planning to eat at Elk Creek, please be sure to head inside promptly following your ride. The kitchen closes at 8:00pm. You can also pre-order a meal online for pick-up.
