Pedals & Pints Community
We’re all about community – building one and improving the one we live in by giving back with donations each week. There are over 300 people that have ridden with us, many of which keep coming back because of the great friendships they’ve made. Folks come from State College, Bellefonte, Lewisburg, Mifflinburg and further in season and out to support each other. And those who first joined us solo now have biking and beer buddies for life.
Penns Valley Pedals and Pints participates in the Ride of Silence – an annual nationwide event that honors those injured or killed by motorists when riding, and reminds motorist to give cyclists “4 feet” of room when passing.
What We’re Up To…
Photo: Sridhar Anandakrishnan, Professor of Glaciology and Geophysics at PSU, took a bike and a Penns Valley Pedals and Pints Jersey on his research trip to Antarctica…and then he came back and told us all about it!
Penns Valley Pedals and Pints stays active throughout the year. In the summer, we’re always biking. But in the cooler months, we get together from time to time to learn from one other. Maybe it’s a presentation on climate change (with some breathtaking photos from Antarctica), someone sharing their amazing journey on two wheels, the Ride of Silence to remember fallen riders, or a community event that supports keeping Penns Valley beautiful.
Keep up to date on everything we’re up to by liking us on Facebook.

Riding with Grace
One of our regular Penns Valley Pedals & Pints riders had quite the adventure in Summer 2021. Lisa Wandel biked across the United States solo in 68 days! If you’re wondering, that’s 4500 miles from Washington state to Maine. She out-pedaled wild dogs, dealt with flats and torrential downpours, and met wonderful, kind people along the way.
