8/26/21 – No Riddle’s Ride – We Tried!

End of Season Party

At the end of each season, we celebrate with a weekend bike ride followed by a meal together at Elk Creekside. We recognize our sponsors and usually have a few giveaways to raffle off. Anyone that rode with us at any point during the season or in the past (we’d love to see some of you who couldn’t make it this year!) and your +1 is welcome to join us.

Saturday, September 11th, 2021
10:30am ride followed by a celebration.

Please RSVP on Facebook with a YES or INTERESTED by September 3rd so that we can plan appropriately.

P.V. Pedals Ride, Thursday 8/26/2021

Hi Everyone!

Looks like another hot one Thursday night. I thought we’d take it nice and slow and ride to Riddle’s Ice Cream shop, but they are closed, due to mechanical issues. The best we can offer is that Mark will be at Riddle’s parking lot with cold water to refill your bottles.  He will also have an iced 50 gallon drum of water, with a spigot, to really cool off if you want to. It will be refreshing, it just won’t taste as good, our only flavor is wet & cold!

The pre-ordering of food went so well last week, Creekside is going to do it again! The menu will be based on the fresh produce that arrives Thursday morning.

Place your post ride food order off of the Chalkboard menu when you sign in, pick up and pay for your order at the trailer after your ride.

Safety Tips

A level route like this tends to keep large groups of riders together longer. Please communicate with other riders, allow room for faster riders to pass safely, and share the road with vehicles.

Thanks!

We’ll begin by going straight through the light. In Coburn, turn right onto Penns Creek Rd., which after many miles merges into Cooper St. in Spring Mills. The road naturally turns left onto Long St, then take a right onto School St., and right into the Riddle’s parking lot. Say ‘Hi” to Mark! Then turn right out of the parking lot onto Water St. and left back onto Long St. Follow the route in reverse onto Penns Creek Rd. Take a left onto Paradise Rd., then a right onto Oak/Long Lane. Right onto Mill St. Left onto Penn St. back to Elk Creekside.

No short cuts this time!

This route is pretty basic but with a shower in the forecast the risk of washing the route arrows off is still there. Take a look at the attached map just in case.

As you know, we roll how Creekside rolls. If they cancel, we cancel. Look for an email by 4:00 on Thursday with an update.

UPDATE TO ROUTE!

Before I show you the route this week I want to take a minute to share something with the club. I get scared at the start of every weekly PV Pedals + Pints club ride. Yes, scared because I fear someone is going to get hurt…or worse.

7/28/22 – Dan Stearns Tribute Ride

7/28/22 – Dan Stearns Tribute Ride

This week we are riding one of our favorite routes, but for a different reason. Thursday we are “Pedaling for a Purpose” – with the purpose being the Dan Stearns Foundation. Please read the article to learn about how much more there was to Dan than just one of our weekly riders.

7/21/22 – Brush Valley Backwards

7/21/22 – Brush Valley Backwards

We’re riding to Madisonburg this week in Brush Valley. The route is rightfully named, the Brush Valley Reverse. This route takes us through the Millheim Narrows. I’ll once again try and arrange with Ed from the Millheim Fire Company to follow us through the Narrows for a enjoyable start to the ride. We are on our own for the return ride. Feel free to alter the route if riding in the Narrows makes you uncomfortable.
