P.V. Pedals Ride, Thursday 8/19/2021

Hi Everyone!

This week’s ride is the Apple Butter Loop backwards. It’s slightly longer than the last several rides, at just over 20 miles. There are a few shortcuts on this route once you cross over Rt 45.

It was great to see even more new riders last week! For those that don’t know, helmets are required.

We’ll begin by riding straight through the light toward Coburn. Turn left onto Pine Creek Rd, left onto Quarry Rd, and cross over Rt 45 onto Apple Butter Rd (quick right-left). Turn right onto Cemetery Rd and continue straight onto Jackson Hill (passing Patchwork Farms). Follow around and take a left back onto Cemetery Rd. Cross over Rt. 45 to Pine Creek Rd. (quick left-right). At the T, take a right onto Coburn Rd back into Millheim.

With the chance of rain, take a minute to look at the map, just in case I can’t mark the route.

SAFTEY TIPS

• Stay in your lane. 
• Please be watchful as you cross Rt 45. You’ll be on 45 for less than a minute each time, but stay clear of traffic, travel single file, and communicate with other cyclists.
• Faster Riders – Please be the first to leave the parking area to reduce the need to pass.

Short-cuts:

After you cross over Rt 45:

1. Turn right onto Middle Rd from Apple Butter Rd. Turn right onto Cemetery Rd to rejoin the route.
2. While on Cemetery Rd, turn right to continue on Cemetery Rd (skipping Jackson Run Rd.). Turn right to continue on Cemetery Rd and rejoin the route toward Rt 45.
