P.V. Pedals Ride, Thursday 5/26/2022
With possible rain in the forecast, Thursday’s route will keep us close to home. There are several options to cut it short and head back to the Elk Creek Café. This route does put us on Route 45 for a few miles. If this makes you uncomfortable feel free to ride a alternate route.
For anyone new to the club this year, there is a changing tent set up in front of my truck each week for your use.
If you still need to confirm your size for the new ELK CREEK JERSEY, Erica will have samples to try on this week before the ride from 5:15 to 6:00. Remember to order by June 5th!
We’ll begin by turning left at the light onto Rt 45. PLEASE ride single file to make room for faster riders who may need to pass. Turn right onto BOWER HOLLOW RD. Turn right onto PINE CREEK RD. When you get to the T, turn left onto COBURN RD and follow into Coburn where you’ll turn right onto PENNS CREEK RD before the bridge. Turn right onto PARADISE RD, right onto BIG OAK LN and right onto LONG LANE back to Penns Creek. Turn left onto PENNS CREEK RD and head back to Millheim/Elk Creek with a left onto COBURN RD in Coburn.
As peaceful and beautiful as Penns Valley is, during the ride please share the road, communicate with each other and above all, stay in your lane on turns and at the crest of the hills!
Order an Elk Creek Cafe / PVPP Jersey today!
All proceeds benefit the community. Not sure what size? Stop by registration this week to try on a sample jersey (XS-4XL in Relaxed and Sport Cuts) for size!
See more details about the jersey options and fit on the website!
UPDATE TO ROUTE!
Before I show you the route this week I want to take a minute to share something with the club. I get scared at the start of every weekly PV Pedals + Pints club ride. Yes, scared because I fear someone is going to get hurt…or worse.
This week we are riding one of our favorite routes, but for a different reason. Thursday we are “Pedaling for a Purpose” – with the purpose being the Dan Stearns Foundation. Please read the article to learn about how much more there was to Dan than just one of our weekly riders.
We’re riding to Madisonburg this week in Brush Valley. The route is rightfully named, the Brush Valley Reverse. This route takes us through the Millheim Narrows. I’ll once again try and arrange with Ed from the Millheim Fire Company to follow us through the Narrows for a enjoyable start to the ride. We are on our own for the return ride. Feel free to alter the route if riding in the Narrows makes you uncomfortable.
